Our Story
For over 50 years, the tower at 5151 E. Broadway has stood as an icon on the Tucson skyline — a testament to visionary development and enduring community connection.
Visionary Joseph R. Cesare commissioned Tucson's first East Side tower, designed by architect John M. Mascarella. The 16-story Great Western Bank high-rise was approved in August.
Construction completed and the Great Western Bank building opens with its iconic fountains facing Broadway Boulevard.
The Centurions placed a 30-foot King Kong on the tower's roof for a St. Mary's Hospital benefit. That same year, lightning struck the building, knocking a piece off the top corner.
Tucson 5151 Investments, LLC — an entity of Kent Circle Partners — acquired the tower and began comprehensive modernization of the lower-level annex and lobby with contemporary high-efficiency design.
After 17+ years of ownership-driven upgrades to infrastructure and amenities, 5151 Broadway stands as Tucson's premier Class-A address — a landmark deeply woven into the city's fabric.
Community Impact
From 2012–2022, up to 200 firefighters and first responders climbed 17 floors seven times in full gear to honor those lost on 9/11.

Tens of thousands in scholarships and travel opportunities for Tucson Jazz Institute students since 2014.
